|Details:||There are 2 full time seasonal positions available.
General Summary of Duties:
· Greeting visitors at the front door and collecting admission fees
·Conducting sales of items from the gift shop
·Offering guided tours to individuals and groups while ensuring that the reception desk is covered
· Monitor visitors to ensure collection is safeguarded
· Offer children and teens the Scavenger Hunt experience
· Assist with promotion of museum activities and development/maintenance of exhibits under direction of Development Coordinator
·Contribute ideas for programming; research topics to enhance exhibits
·Respond to questions and offer information to visitors about the collection, the town and surrounding Three Rivers area
General housekeeping tasks, including but not limited to:
o Put out external signs and Story Board on opening; check outside grounds for waste & sweep steps
o Empty de-humidifier twice daily
o Turn on all lights and air conditioner
o Check for cleaning needs and clean as required and/or directed
o Replenish supplies; remove waste
o Check for pests and remove at end of day, turn off all lights and air conditioner, close windows and set alarm
·Other duties as assigned from time to time by the Development Coordinator
**Preference given to bi-lingual applicants but not required
Rate of Pay: $12.85 an hour
Jobs for Youth Program
•Student employees must be 15-29 years of age by the start of the project; they must have attended school full time in the current year and intend to return to school full time in the next school year.
•Students under 16 must provide proof of parental consent, to the employer, ,prior to the start of the project.
•Students must be residents of Prince Edward Island, and be eligible to work in Canada
.•While priority will be given to students, consideration may be given to youth demonstrating barriers to employment who are not currently attending school and being challenged to secure work experience. Youth would be required to be case managed by an Employment Assistance Service provider. Special considerations may be made for those impacted by COVID-19.
